Factorization of the dijet cross section in hadron–hadron collisions

چکیده

The factorization theorem for the dijet cross section is presented in hadron–hadron collisions with a cone-type jet algorithm. We also apply beam veto to jets consisting of initial radiation. soft-collinear effective theory employed see structure transparently when there are four distinct lightcone directions involved. There various types divergences such as ultraviolet and infrared divergences. And phase space divided probe collinear soft parts, appears an additional divergence called rapidity divergence. These sorted out we will show that all cancel, only remains. It vital step justify factorization. Among many partonic processes, take $$q{\overline{q}} \rightarrow gg$$ specific example consider section. hard functions have nontrivial color structure, while diagonal operator basis. dependence anomalous dimension on algorithm space, cancelled by functions. compute dimensions factorized components, resum large logarithms next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy solving renormalization group equation.
